The bowling Hall of Fame is designed
to provide lasting honor and recognition for those persons, living or dead,
who have contributed to the game of bowling within the Kalamazoo Metro Bowling
Association. All selections shall be made on the basis of character,
sportsmanship, personality, leadership, dedication, achievements, and
contributions to the game of bowling.

NOMINATIONS AND
SELECTION PROCEDURES SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS:

Anyone may nominate a
candidate.
-
There shall be two
award categories: performance and Meritorious service. The latter
category shall give recognition to those individuals who have served
bowling as proprietors, sponsors, media personalities, league officials,
USBC, State, and KMBA officials.

There shall be a limit of one nominee in each category inducted each year.
- Nominations must be made in writing to the KMBA Hall of Fame Committee
Chairman, or the Association Secretary, on a nomination form
available online, from the league secretary, a member of the Hall of Fame
Committee, a lane representative, or the Association Secretary. The
nomination form shall be submitted on or before December 1st of each year in
order for the candidates to be considered for the current year.
- The Hall of Fame Committee shall have studied the nominations, reached its
decision, and shall have presented a maximum of three nominations in each
category to the KMBA Board of Directors prior to January 31.
- Candidates recommended to the KMBA Board of Directors shall be voted on by
the Board at any official meeting prior to January 31. The vote shall be by
secret ballot and a 70% majority of the board members present shall be
required for selection to the Hall of Fame.
- The recommendations to the Hall of Fame Committee shall be a part of the
records of the association, but will not be made public. A letter will be
sent to persons nominating unsuccessful candidates, and will state only that
the nominee has not been selected at the present time. No reason shall be
given.
- Nominations of unsuccessful candidates shall be kept on file for three
years and shall be reviewed yearly by the Hall of Fame Committee.
- The Hall of Fame Committee shall be a standing committee of the
association. the Committee shall be composed of seven members: three
directors from the association board, the association secretary, the
president, one Hall of Fame members, and one member of the association at
large. The Chairman of the committee shall be one of the three
directors.
- Members of the committee shall be appointed by the president for one year
terms.
